sweet revenge

In between chatting and watching on the tube, I am waiting for the Pacquiao-Morales bout to start.

And in between the never-ending commercial breaks, I hear Pacquiao singing “Para sa ‘yo ang laban na ‘to…” very, very badly. (it’s btw my sibling’s current fave song)…and i can’t help but want to hug the guy. he’s so earnest when he does it. he feels it in his heart. i’m sure the song idea is mainly a marketing ploy, but still, I have to feed the inner softie.

saw the game through a videostreaming by a sportsbook owner/ friend. the chap offered me to hook me to their connection so i can watch it in real time in my laptop. he insisted me though to bet for morales, instead to pacman! what am i? erehe? filibustero?? heheheh! no way! go pacman! go bebi! ;-)

the people in Las Vegas, man…it must be sooo good for an athlete to see so many familiar flags being waved in your name. it makes me want to cry (but then again, I do cry at the drop of anything). and the enthusiasm of even the elite society was apparent that they went to powerplant’s movie house to watch the bout live!

seeing pacman on the ring made me feel good. all the more, when he knocked out el terrible on round 10. he brought back the pride in me of being a Pinoy! he and so many others (artists, other athletes, the common Pinoy battling it out abroad) have proven that we can out-anything any advanced country in terms of what really counts: sincerity of heart, unbreakable spirit, grit and amazing warmth and passion to pursue excellence. nevermind the boxing ring of economies and political power, nobody ever wants GNP stats while on their deathbed. don’t you think?
