a weekend that was

a shindig party at nbc tent. oh yes! we scored VIP entry. thanks to A. and what’s more? i saw my anne curtis! yay! she’s UNO magazine’s hottest woman! in local showbiz, i like her and only her. haha! and oh! ornussa! no wonder why my borgy is always in fist fight at the embassy club. she is one hoooot chick! i started liking her! :) hmmm. nancy c.? she’s a disappointment. aiza m? she could have been hot, if she’s few more inches higher. ok. ok. napaka-showbiz ko na! hahaa!

top 5 women of UNO

after our light dinner at zong, we swung by jill’s. tried bacardi mojito, after 2 rounds i just knew cafe havana’s mojito is a winner. then the caiprinha..hmmm. so so. i’ve asked for a choco chilli martini cos i like it at martini’s bar but they don’t have it. so the mojito remained our company for the night. then i thought it wasn’t really that bad. just enough to give us the kick for the shindig which started at past 11.

UNO Girls

usual suspects

off to bed all knackered big time! did several laps at the pool the night before, then virtual training run at dawn and then the party at night. i felt the need to sleep for 2 days. haha!

weekend was reserved for a dinner party in pampanga and a zoobic/ ocean adventure on sunday. i realize it’s a shame to keep on promoting local tourism and have gone to so many ocean parks and safari’s in Asia yet i have not seen our very own. but unluckily the pampanga/subic escapade got canceled because of the nasty weather. so there, left without any plans for the weekend. i was really itching to go to the media run, but my knees are achin’ badly. been askin’ fellow happy feet chaps what could be the cause of it, but B said give it a cold compress after runs just to relieve the pain as he too is just as clueless.

i was chatting yesterday with my brit friend N, who’s been running & cycling competitively in hk, when i showed him where in my knees hurts, he immediately said, ‘princess i think you’re knock kneed!’ boo! i’ve always thought i’m bow legged (sakang), only to find out i have knocked-knees (pike). haha!

with the pampanga trip canceled, i curled on my bed with an utterly inspiring autobiography book of marla rumyan – first legally blind athelete to compete in olympic games for the 1500m event in sydney. she said it perfectly…“so, in an odd way, maybe my sight, or lack thereof rather, is a beneficial thing. i’m forced to run for the pure performance of it. i don’t run for medals, although i’ve won my share. i run for the aesthetic and kinesthetic experience, the act of running itself. running, to me, is freedom from confusion and obstacle. it is liberation from the medical technology that has slowed me down since i was a child. running is freedom from the sedentary and the stagnant. it is movement, and it is simple”

and oh! A (thanks to you btw) gave me the license to display this spanking pink badge:rockingirlbloggers

so it’s my turn to award 5 more:

  1. jaymie – she is very passionate about running and everything in between. it’s impossible not to be infected with her runaholicism. :-) i have to mention too how a juggler she is – mum, wife, runner, designer, writer all rolled into one.
  2. ala – i like her eccentricity. she may not always have the most popular opinion on so many things but she certainly has a more profound ideas.
  3. nicee – she’s one of my closest friends during our Youth days. she’s the youngest but she can always stun me with her creativity and depth. i miss her already.
  4. pia – she was at first a filler to my ballot. but as i know her in her writings, in her works and in her advocacies…she grows in me steadily.
  5. nikkita – mi amiga in ateneo. she is obsessed to anything spanish. she’s one smart chick who kicks arse really hard! lately she’s busy though with work and with her new found luv! haha! (ok i dropped it sowee :p)

5. abbyg – i think still up to now, she’s not aware how much she has inspired a lot of those people around her. her being so in-touched with her inner self allows her creativity to flow naturally. she amazes me even today how she has overcame all the ordeals of a long distance relationship. something i know, i can never ever fully fathom.

you know how much emotional you can get watching a game eh? the boxing world cup, oh man! penalosa still rocks! he’s not only an underdog but really a dejado in the tale of tape – reach, height and all. but he just came out like a sparta warrior. wagi! despite boom boom’s errr shocking defeat in round one (ok im not at all convinced he’d win that, but losing at round 1?!). 5 of 6 bouts? who am i to complain? hopefully by this, pinoys would realize basketball is not really for us. it’s a game for oddly tall people. we have better chances in boxing and in football me thinks.

speaking of which, arsenal‘s win over fulham for PL’s first game is a relief! was at my couch’s edge the entire game cringing to every overpassing, taking poor corners and flimsy defense. but thanks to alexei. i thought i’d turn off the telly with a heavy heart. yay! spartak prague ello?! :) rosicky, just play your game, ok? i’ll cheer for you come what may :)

i’m getting too chatty now, but this is what 3 consecutive days of toxicness in the office can do to you. perhaps i’m paying off because i was a total bummer last week! :)

ADO, uulitin ko, papasukin mo muli sa puso mo si anne curtis ko! hahah! anyway, nope i missed the VR :( curled the whole day under my sheet for a book, then saw how the gunners beat prague with 2:0 goals, and slept 3ish. and hey, it’s still raining at 3. so i assumed it wouldn’t stop for an hour and a half. hopefully next week, skies would be nicer.
