two worlds in one race

why despite being categorically injured and undergoing a therapy join condura run? why after a running hiatus for over a month, sign-up and invite friends who in fact haven’t even joined a race?

the answers are simple:

1. i’m feeling a lot better with my therapy runs and if there’s such thing as slight discomfort when running, that’s what my left knee is saying :-) oh yes i’m not fully recovered, but the doctor said yes to a 5k light run and hooray! road to recovery only weeks ago seems so dark, but i tell you, no amount of darkness can weaken a burning desire to go back to running again! :p

2. it’s a run for a cause i firmly believe! i’m a lover of underwater beauty through and through. and if projects like this come my way, without question, sign me up right away! ;-)
and the fact that hey! i would run and i’d get to help save tubbataha, two things i super luv, WINNER!

3. my running family, h@ppyfeet fully supported the run. more than 75% i think ran yesterday! and elllo??! it’s like a reunion!!! i’ve been missin’ a couple of my running friends and i know just need to be there! besides, i have to meet new faces in the group. i don’t want to remain an online friend or egroup buddy to fellow runaholics who just joined the group. you know?! :p

4. it’s a project of a fellow h@ppyfeet, pat. come on?! if we can support other runs, how much more a kapamilya or a kapuso?! ;-)

5. and my friends…my friends outside running, a lot of them said yes to me and took on the challenge to take their first race! wooohoo!

my scubamates, all 6 of them! we now only don’t just dive together, officially we now run too together!

my alterego, after ages of turning me down to join me in running, she finally pinned her race bib yesterday and had her first stoked moment in running! she was quick in saying, “mare ang dali lang pala ng 3K! sali ako uli!” she doesn’t know how bad i felt that i didn’t see her at the starting line, i would have taken her a shot as she embarks to a new milestone in her life! hahaha! running that is! Ii’s all good nonetheless. we now get to share luv for running! oh! her two siblings were there and ran too whilst tito papa & tita mama & bibe cheered them up on the sidelines!

my syuts. she is not the athletic one. but she bravely said yes to a 5K. so weeks before the race, she regularly ran at salcedo park to condition her legs for her first ever race! kudos to you syuts!

my kampi, it was her first too! and only started running weeks ago. but finished strongly her 5K run! (side note: syuts & kampi, a day before the race, bought a mizuno wave creation iv in an impulse! hahaha!)

it was indeed such a high time for all runaholics! i must commend condura for this, ello P! from the advocacy, to the shirt, to the loot bag, to the hydration stations (bottled water at that!) during the race! Sir P, hats off!

to better bloggers of the race: tbr, pat, ben, chaia & marga. and for mere P&S photos but cute nonetheless hop here :p

Shucks what a good time! Nice pics. I like the one of you at Bullrunner’s blog, on the phone carrying your stuff. Recovering nicely right? No major pain?

Yeah that trailer for that “Mt. Cameroon Run” makes me want to get the DVD. Maybe an inspirational video to prepare for big events.

So Gerard led your group in your Mainit dive. He’s a classmate in our DM class. Try doing Bahura saddle in a twilight dive. Beautiful. Everything is there! Sharks, tunas, turtles, etc. But you need to be able to manage the currents.

Since you like to run, try joining the Hong Kong Marathon next year. I did it this year (feb. 17) cold and challenging.

And if you need more adventure in your life, join a mountaineering club. Join AMCI Mountaineering Club (amci.org.ph)
