i need to run. i know.

i’m sooo out of shape now (my all time high at 133lbs! blech!) and i dont feel good already about myself. you know, i feel sleepy all the time and gee i get tired easily lately.

i really need to be active again. but how can i do it here in saigon?? city is soo small, if you’re claustrophobic, you’d freak out here.

i’d start looking for a place where i can run or play tennis or badminton. or where i can hit the pool at least thrice a week otherwise i’d qualify for the heavyweight division in boxing. haaay!

i like

anyway, received this from nike. i’ve been eyeing to join this race cuz i thought i’d be in MNL on 31st. but work gets in the way again and booo! i’d miss the race..the fun..and the uber cool finisher bracelet.

and since i cant join it, i might as well share this to my fellow HF buddies and to my running lurkers. here’s the Race Day Tip List from Nike :-)

    • Eat a morning meal that’s high in carbohydrates and easy to digest. If you need coffee, have as little as possible and drink a big glass of water 1-2 hours before your run. Don’t drink anything else until you start running.
    • Dress in such a way that you’re ready for a slightly warmer weather. If the weather is cold on race day, you can wear warmer clothes before you start and just bring extra gear in case you need to change. Choose clothes, especially shorts, that won’t chafe.
    • Don’t wear new shoes on race day.
    • Drink anywhere from 6 to 8 ounces of fluid every 20 minutes during the duration of your run. After your run, rehydrate with water or a sports drink.
    • Including a banana in your pre-run meal could help prevent cramping.
    • Don’t forget to stretch before and after your run.
    • Don’t start off too fast because you might lose steam later or suffer from cramps.
    • If you get tired during your run or if you get muscle cramps, stop briefly to stretch, slow down, or shorten your strides.
    • Have fun and enjoy your run.

for more info pls hop to rio’s site or to mi amiga jaymie’s site. goodluck to all the peeps who’d run. i’m jealous BIG time!
