ditsy girl i am sometimes

didn’t know my Leader class won’t be meeting today. it was like one of the very few times i came in early only to find out i’d be prancing my way to Powerplant.

i can’t believe how many shoe styles and trends i’ve missed during all these months of penny-pinching.

the current favorite: ballet flats with kitten heels (how can flats have heels?).

lacoste_balletflats for the first time, the “in” shoes would look good on my size nine and a half feet. With a round tip and a slight elevation, it can be very comfortable but still give me the height that i desperately need. i tried on a mint green one with a swirl in the center, but fell in love with a maroon pair at MNG. there was also a blue-green pair at a small stall, but i had doubts if i have anything to pair it with. the last ones are cute, but it would need a bag to go along with it. but the shoe that really stole my heart was the pink sandals made of abaca-like material with a small flower on one side. it has two-inch heels that are slim enough to be elegant, but stable enough to bear my weight. there was an inch of band that perfectly wrapped the ball of my foot, the color going well with my morena legs. most of all, it’s comfy.

heart melts. happiness comes. shoe fits.

but i walk away without new purchase. i’m storming the heavens with prayers: please let there be a stock on the next pay day…had enough expenses for this month

the gathering at the rockwell tent

don’t know how i managed to do it, but i told him, “thanks so much for coming here!” and he, ever gracious, tells me, “no, thank YOU for waiting in line so patiently.”

i don’t blame him for saying that the filipinos have an “utterly terrifying enthusiasm.” every sentence he uttered was punctuated by an excited chorus of shouts and screams. but judging from his reaction and his blog entries, he loved every minute of it. people stuttered, froze, and even cried in front of him!

i actually felt sad when i  walked out of The Tent alone and not being able to share this moment w/ my fellow geeks J & M (yeah i admit i sometimes am)… i guess what amazed me the most is his humility and sincerity despite his intelligence, immense talent, fame, and superhuman ability to stay pleasant and humorous even after signing hundreds of books…i wish I’d been the one whose raffle ticket won herself a dinner with him…nevertheless, following THE master like a cult for years now in his writings and seeing him in flesh was one of the best highs i’ve ever had. the experience is another amazing addition to my memory bank.
